This stunning piece by Becket sculptor Stanley Marcus is primarily welded and cast aluminum and features a cast face mounted inside a hand-thrown ceramic pot.

Japanese art greatly interests Marcus. He doesn't seek any deliberate style in his work, instead he seeks to tap how the honesty of the work flows from within.

After a successful career in the family textile business, Marcus decided to follow his passion for art, pursuing a PhD at Columbia University, followed by years on the faculty at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.

Marcus has a foundry in Pittsfield, MA, and may of his impressive works, large and small, can be seen on display at his studio in scenic Becket, MA.
