Description

Size: 16" x 20"

This is an image of tranquility and subtle contrasts. A solitary Julia butterfly rests on a masonry pedestal. Gracefully curved wings are complimented by the background reliefs.

Her rich orange-yellow color and anatomic details are accentuated by contrast with the paler background shades and relief pattern variations.

Erik Rosenthal used photography to teach, lecture and illustrate medical publications as a surgeon. He photographs in retirement to paint and magnify images of nature.

His pictures vividly freeze the delicate, vibrant beauty of butterflies, birds and visually appealing compositions.

Rosenthal's work combines craft with sensitive artistry. The scope, detail, and harmony of these images continue to captivate beyond first glance.

This presentation is an Iris Giclee print with Pinnacle Gold inks on William Turner 310 gsm photo rag paper. Mounted over Buffermount Archival Drymount Tissue and Acid Free Foam Core with single mat of Alpharag Archival Mat Board.
