Description

Mathematical Art Print:   "Pythagoras" was produced using mathematical software in order to obtain the base image and then it was modified using a software package called "Photofiltre".  The base image was generated using a mathematical formula designed to generate Pythagorean Triples.  An example of a Pythagorean Triple would be the numbers 3,4,5, and are so called because these numbers satisfy the Pythagorean Theorem.  I suspect that I am the only person who knows what the generating equation for this image is and so it makes it difficult for anyone to copy it.
Mathwalrus T-shirt:  The image on the mathwalrus T-shirt was generated by the parametric equation found on the shirt.  This equation was discovered by Jamestown College alumnus Mel Wahl when he created a mathematical algorithm that easily generated parametric curves using a very simple and neat idea. He has created numerous math art images using this method.
