A wine with history! Chateau de Beaucastel's 300-year old vineyards are treated without chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or systemic pesticides. All thirteen grape varietals of Chateauneuf-du-Pape are planted, with Mourvedre, Grenache, Counoise, Syrah, and Cinsault predominant. Each varietal is harvested and vinified separately. The final blend is a stunning wine, very opaque ruby/black in color, with a melange of aromas, complex layers of flavor, with spicy character and richness. The Perrin brothers carry on the family tradition of making wine as naturally as possible, so this very long-lived wine will throw a sediment. Decanting is recommended.
