For more than a decade, ARTime has been organizing Saturday in the Galleries, contemporary art gallery tours for families with children ages 5-10. Visiting different art neighborhoods, each program takes in three or four shows (all linked by a theme). Through interactive discussions and hands-on activities, children and adults explore the ideas, materials, and techniques of today's artists. From viewing the work of established to emerging artists in blue-chip to brand-new galleries, families learn about different aspects of contemporary art including installation, video, and performance as well as updated traditional forms of art.
