Mimi Gregoire Carpenter is the author and illustrator of the children's picture book, "What The Sea Left Behind". Dubbed "environmental painter", by the Farnsworth Museum, Rockland, Maine, Mimi has exhibited throughout New England. Her detailed opaque watercolors present a sharply focused interpretation of the sea. She strives to sensitize viewers to the beauty and intricate design of the sea's treasures: shells, sea urchins, pebbles, sea stars. The composition of her work mirrors the coincidental relationships of objects in nature.
