Description
A private behind-the-scene tour of NPR's Washington headquarters. Includes stops at the network newsroom and studios, a coffee and a chat with two of NPR's pioneer broadcasters - Susan Stanberg and Linda Wertheimer ! Also, a visit to the live broadcast of the flagship news program "All things considered". About one hour.
Linda Wertheimer, now NPR's senior national correspondent, spent 13 years as host of "All things considered". Over her career at NPR, she has anchored ten presidential nomination conventions and 12 election nights. She is the first person to broadcast live from inside the US senate chamber.
Nationally renowned broadcast journalist Susan Stanberg is special correspondent for NPR. She is the first woman to anchor a national nightly news program, and has won every major award in broadcasting. She has been inducted into the Broadcasting Hall of Fame and the Radio Hall of Fame.
NPR Senior Intelligence Correspondent Mary Louise Kelly will lead the tour.
