Hollywood composer and longtime conductor of the Oscar Awards ceremonies, Bill Conti will conduct this special tribute to the music of Henry Mancini, composer of some of the best known movie music including "The Pink Panther," "Peter Gunn" and more.Rumba Sinfonica with Tiempo Libre - Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 8pm and Sunday, April 27 at 2:30pm. Robert Moody makes his PSO debut as Music Director Designate with this sizzling program featuring music with a South American flavor, including works by "tango king" Astor Piazzolla, and the fascinating "Rumba Sinfonica," commissioned specifically for Cuban ensemble and symphony orchestra.
