Description

Glaucoma Research Foundation Chair Deirdre Porter and Bradford Hall will be your hosts for a weekend morning boat ride on Felix III, a 34-foot diesel-powered boat with a covered deckhouse the offers protection from the capricious winds and spindrift of San Francisco Bay. With a 9:30 am departure from South Beach Marina, the adventure on Angel Island begins at 10:00 am. This item will be a featured item at the Silent Auction at the 2008 Benefit on January 23rd.

Angel Island is a hilly, grass and forest-covered island, the largest in San Francisco Bay. It is located one mile from the Tiburon Peninsula. The park covers 740 acres and is 788 feet high at the top of Mt. Livermore. It provides spectacular views of Marin County, San Francisco, and the Golden Gate, and the entire Bay Area. Angel Island is rich in local history.

Join Deirdre and Brad on one of their favorite walks. Options range from very easy to more strenuous, the latter would be the top of Mt. Livermore for a 360 degree view of the Bay Area. After the long-way-round return to South Beach by way of Raccoon Strait, Golden Gate Bridge, the City Waterfront, Deirdre and Brad invite you to enjoy a late lunch at their favorite South Beach bistro.

This is a Live Event Item.
