Description
“Expressing myself artistically is extremely satisfying because when I am creating it is like being in another dimension where ideas and possibilities flow freely. Perhaps most artists, sculptors, architects, good cooks and writers feel this way.”
During her lifetime she has worked in a variety of media. In Stockton, she is probably best recognized as a printmaker producing etchings, woodcuts and monoprints. She was trained by fine local teachers: Bill Williams of Delta College, Larry Walker of UOP, Roland Peterson of UC Davis, and Joseph Zirker of UC Berkeley.
Currently, she is in the process of designing and painting canvas “floor clothes” — yes, hand-painted canvas rugs— art one walks on. This is an old art form which is enjoying a renaissance today. Most of her floor clothes and table runners are commissioned by size and color requirements but the imaginative part is up to her.
“Participating in "String Fever" was a delightful, fun Challenge.”
