Emme Nelson Baxter Landscape Painting-"The Broken Road"

Description
Nashville Artist, Emme Nelson Baxter has donated this charming landscape oil painting "The Broken Road".
"Classically trained, Emme Nelson Baxter is a painter who strives to maintain neutrality while conveying humanity's inevitable imprint on the landscape. Her subject matter is drive-by scenery. An unattended field of hay bales. An unassuming corner lot hashmarked by a barbed-wire fence. A roadside thicket punctuated by a diagonal yellow utility wire. A wall crazed with ivy.
Not always is the "offending" telephone pole included in her work. As a former editor of words, she sometimes deletes man's obvious influences, leaving only the suggestion of the human imprint.
A native of Nashville, TN, Ms. Baxter won an Artistic Merit Scholarship to Southern Methodist University's Meadows School of the Arts, studying under American Realists Barnaby Fitzgerald, Roger Winter and Jake Bertoldt. She also trained in Taos, N.M. and in southern France at the La Napoule Art Institute with American Realist Jack Beale. Her paintings may be found in many corporate and individual collections throughout the Southeast."
