Description
Bid on a wonderful roundtrip to Ghana!
Feel the spirit of the ancestors in this beautiful country on the West Coast of Africa. Hear the roar and taste the salt of the Atlantic Ocean. Climb the mountains of Akropong and visit ancient churches there were you can stay at the newly built home of Architect Daniel Kwaku Nyante. Visit the dungeons and the door of 'No Return': the last stop from which chained Africans were stolen from their native land. Enjoy the gracious people who truly practice the presence of the Divine. Enjoy the cool breezes. Bargain at the inexpensive markets for turquoise and gold and magenta and other carefully tailored clothing and fabrics, gold and leather goods, wood carvings and canes. Have the experience of a lifetime.
Special Instructions
This trip includes one KLM (or comparable airline) round-trip coach ticket to Accra, Ghana and up to a two-week stay in Akropong July 1-14, 2007. Excellent for someone participating in 'Christianity and African Culture' Course. Hotels in Accra may be booked by you but are not included. However, even the five-star hotels are very reasonable by New York standards. Although the hotels generally accept all credit cards, most Ghanaian businesses accept only Visa or US dollars. Do not rely on traveler's checks, which are difficult to cash.
