Description

BID on a game of golf for two at Ridgewood Country Club, Ridgewood, New Jersey, the site of 1990 US Senior Open Championship and 2000 PGA Senior Championship.
This club offers three nine hole courses that are played in three eighteen hole combinations. The West/East Course is the most challenging combination. In 1995, it was rated by "GOLF Magazine" as 97th among the "Top 100 courses in the U.S." "GOLFWEEK" ranked it 66th among "America's 100 Best Classical Courses" for 1997, 48th for 1998 and 67th for 1999. The West/East Course has narrow, tree-lined fairways bordered by a deep cut of rough. The East/Center Course is the least difficult because it is shorter and has fewer water hazards. The Center/West Course can be difficult, and its signature hole is #6, on the Center Course, a par 4, measuring 289 yards. This hole plays to an extremely small green. They have named this hole "The Five And Dime" because you can make a score anywhere between a five and a ten.All three courses have undulating greens that are fast and medium-sized. There are many elevation changes, and ponds come into play throughout all three courses. This club was originally founded in 1890 and has been listed by the USGA as one of the first 100 clubs established in the U.S. In addition, it was recognized by "GOLF Magazine" in their 1995 list of "The First 100 Clubs in America." These courses were renovated by Rees Jones in 1988.Ridgewood Country Club will host the Senior PGA Championship in 2001.
