Description

Bid on two wonderful nights with breakfast at the historic Gilmor Sloane House, in Stony Point!

Beautifully nestled in the Hudson River Valley, this wonderful retreat is just located thirty minutes north of the George Washington Bridge in New York City (for a quick getaway).  The Center staff is available to help you plan daytime activities such as visiting historic sites, shopping, hiking, and dancing.

How It Began
It all began with an open invitation to missionaries on furlough, a cup of hot chocolate, and a fire in the open fireplace: “Come to our home, enjoy the gardens, and renew your spirit!” A ministry of hospitality was shaped by four daughters of a Presbyterian minister 150 years ago. The home has been named the Gilmor Sloane House, the daughters are remembered as the “Gilmor Sisters,” and their hospitality is the inspiration for services to thousands of guests locally, nationally, and globally. The current mission of Stony Point Center (SPC), “to broaden hospitality and deepen vocation,” not only captures the legacy of early history but mandates the service provided by this national conference center of the PC(USA).

Each of the 12 bedrooms has a private bath and twin beds. Despite the magnificent 19th century atmosphere, the Gilmor Sloane house has all modern 21st century conveniences, including modern connections, audio-visual equipment, faxes and air-conditioning.

Take a stroll on the grounds and you may find yourself at the Cretan Labyrinth, a unique maze without walls that is seen as a metaphor for life.

Then there’s a gorgeous meditation room built by award-winning architect George Yu that — once you’re in it — seems to float in the middle of the surrounding forest.

Special Instructions

There are two options: you can either get two nights for two people, or one night for four people.
