Description

This past year the Rutgers University women's basketball team was 5-5 around Christmas time.  They finished the season 27-9, including winning the Big East Championship and beating the top team in the country (Duke) en route to the finals of the NCAA tournament.  Their coach, C. Vivian Stringer, was the first coach -- male or female -- to take three different teams to the Final Four, and is the third winningest coach in women's basketball history.

This basketball was signed by all the members of the team (including Coach Stringer, team captain Essence Carson, Kia Vaughn, and Matee Ajavon) especially for the TUC auction.  It is accompanied by the PBS Documentary DVD, "This is a Game, Ladies", which follows the team through its 2000 season, the last time they went to the Final Four.
