The winning bidder will receive a $35 gift certificate applicable to a six-week Avant Tot piano music class for children ages 2 ½ to 4 ½ and their parents. Instructor Annie Lewandowski utilizes the natural curiosity of children to explore and develop their musical abilities.  

Activities in Avant Tot include: improvising with basic music fundamentals; exploring and organizing different sounds in the environment through play; singing; and learning basic notation, keyboard skills, rhythms, and pitch recognition through improvisatory techniques. Parents are invited to improvise (no experience necessary!) on a variety of instruments while kids learn music basics, all the while exercising and developing their own creativity.

Annie Lewandowski is a teacher, performer and composer with backgrounds in classical, improvised and popular music. She recently moved to Oakland from Seattle, where she created an after school music program for elementary age youths that included ensemble playing, improvisation, technique, solfege, rhythm training, music listening, solo reading, composition, and performance practice. As a teacher, Annie encourages exploration in all of these areas, all the while keeping lessons fun and friendly.
