Description

A scale model of one of the 111th's finest aircraft!

There's extraordinary detail in this Warthog, including its weaponry.

Tail No. 248 first flew in 1979 with the US Air Force at RAF Bentwaters, England.  It was transferred to the Wisconsin Air National Guard for a couple years before going to Willow Grove Air Reserve Station, Pennsylvania.  After many years of exceptional service, it was retired and now sits in front of the 111th's Headquarters Building.

The A-10 was the first Air Force aircraft specifically designed for close air support.  It is affectionately referred to as the “Warthog,” based upon its unique appearance.  It carries 16,000 pounds of ordnance and 1,100 30mm Tank-Busting Shells.
