Leslie Ehrin is a professional Painter, Writer and Photographer who has been painting since she was sixteen months old. Her Mother, Lois Ehrin who is also an Artist and Illustrator, taught her to paint in the bathtub using tempera paint in baby food jars, brushes and newsprint taped to the walls.   Leslie earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from The University of Pennsylvania in the History of Art in 1980.  After working in the publishing field for several years, she then studied Painting at the graduate level at Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, PA.  While studying there on a full time basis, she also researched, wrote and edited catalogues for the permanent art collections  for The Museum of American Art and worked part time for a corporate art consulting firm doing Collections Management work. Throughout the 1990’s, while painting, showing and selling her own work, through galleries, dealers, and consultants, Leslie also worked with The Philadelphia Museum of Art, directing ArtWorks Gallery as a fundraising activity for The Museum. During that tenure, she built and managed numerous corporate art collections for Fortune 500 companies in the middle atlantic region of the U.S.   In 2000, Leslie decided to pursue her own art career on a full time basis and left that position with Philadelphia Museum of Art.    Since 2000, Leslie has exhibited widely by invitation in One Woman Shows in private schools, colleges, universities; in Juried Invitational Exhibitions, Art Festivals, Fairs, Galleries, and she has been represented by dealers and art consulting firms throughout The United States.  Her paintings of Italy and photography work have been collected by corporate and private collectors throughout the U.S. and in Europe. Additionally, Leslie has taught on the Fine Art Faculties of Cabrini College in Radnor, PA., as an Adjunct Professor, and at numerous local and regional community art centers such as The Foundation for the Arts and Sciences in Long Beach Island, NJ, and at The Wayne Art Center in Wayne, PA./      Leslie’s work has been represented by numerous galleries and dealers in recent years, such as Vanderbilt Gallery in Naples, FL and Nantucket, MA and by John Cacciola Galleries in Bernardsville, N.J. and in Chelsea, N.Y., by Art4business, Inc., and by Fine Art Liaisons Gallery in Bryn Mawr, PA.   Presently, Leslie’s original paintings and limited edition giclee work can be seen and purchased through Leslie Ehrin Fine Art at her home studio at 3 Hopeton Lane Villanova, PA at Ardrossan Farm, by appointment or by visiting www.leslieehrinfineart.com . In 2004, Leslie published a line of limited edition fine art giclee prints in concert with Brilliant Studio Inc., http://brilliantstudio.com / Leslie Ehrin, which publishes work for museums in the United States such as The Philadelphia Museum of Art,  Museum of American Art at Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Brandywine River Museum and others.   Leslie currently lives and works in a cottage on an Estate whose original owner, Hope Montgomery Scott, was the character inspiration for the movies, The Philadelphia Story and High Society. She was also the Mother of the Late President of The Philadelphia Museum of Art, in Philadelphia, Robert Montgomery Scott. Mr. Scott invited Leslie to live and paint in a small house on the Estate following her resignation from The Philadelphia Museum of Art.
