Learn to make a bow just as the Native Americans did - Make your own fully functional flat bow and learn how primitive arrows were made, just as the Native Americans did. Larn the rewarding, lost art of bow and arrow making with Ryan White as he shares his knowledge, bow making experience, and passion for our country's bow making heritage. With consistent effort, you will complete a bow with a draw of around 50 pounds (give or take 10 pounds.) Safety comes first. You will learn proper methods to create and use your bow. The bow will be made from hickory -- a traditional wood that has been harvested and dried specifically for bow making. Likewise, Ryan will show how arrows used to be made from entirely primitive materials. Bows will be hand-carved and all materials will be provided in class, except for a pocket knife, which you are required to bring.
Special Instructions
For ages 15 and up only. You must choose to attend a Tuesday afternoon class on June 5, June 12, June 19 or June 26 from 4-6pm.
This item will not close online. Bidding will continue and end at the Gala Event, Auction 007 - Bonding Together to Educate the Whole Child on Saturday, April 21 at the Boulder Ridge Country Club. We'll see you there!
