Description
This sculpture came out of the Robert Maxwell Stoneware Ceramics line designed by Noel Osheroff, a contemporary of Maxwell's working in the same area. It is a girl in a flowered shift, looking skyward, with lips slightly parted and eyes wide open, as if in amazement. Set on a wooden base, the piece measures 7 inches tall x 5 inches wide x 4 1/2 inches deep. It is a timeless piece, yet still reflective of the hippie era in which it was produced. The bidding will name its value!
Special Instructions
Robert Maxwell is probably best known for the imaginative, mass-produced stoneware animal sculptures he produced in the 1960s in Venice, California. One-of-a-kind pieces were also produced and sold in many of the finer stores, such as Gumps, Bloomingdales, and Nieman Marcus. These outlets also sold hand-blown vases and other hand-made objects. Because they were limited in number, these unique pieces have become the most collectible.
