Description

This set of 3 ceramic tiles depicting historical scenes is by artist John Gould (1906-1996). The tiles are heat resistant and dishwasher safe. They measure 6 x 6 inches and reproduce the paintings "Last Great March", "Last Cantonment", and "Peace - 1783".

Special Instructions

John Gould had a long career in art, both as artist and art instructor. He was also well-known as a lecturer on art, particularly oriental painting. In 1957, he established the Bethlehem Art Gallery and Art School located near Newburgh N.Y. He was born in Worcester, Mass., studied art at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY, and later instructed in Pratt for 22 years. He was a prominent illustrator for the Saturday Evening Post for more than eight years and an illustrator for many national corporations.
