Born in tiny Lomond, Alberta, Aara grew up in a small town in southern Ontario. After six years at Harvard College, she took up residence as a freelance violist/bassist and painter in Ithaca, New York. Traveling the world, working as a canoe guide in northern Minnesota, and architecture school have been distractions. She is also active with a string quartet!
