When Bart's first opened back in 1976 in downtown Northampton, Massachusetts, we knew it was the start of something special.

Word spread quickly about Bart's Homemade Ice Cream... about the natural ingredients, like the juicy raspberries packed into Chunky Chocolate Mousse with Raspberries... about the freshly brewed coffee and real Heath Bars in Coffee Heath Crunch... and about the fresh lemon peel in the Lemon Mist ice cream. Very little has changed since those early days, although Lemon Mist ice cream has become No Fat No Dairy Lemon Sorbet. We still use only the finest ingredients available. Since 1983 we have made our ice cream in the Pioneer Valley's oldest continuously operating ice cream facility. Located near the Vermont border, it's just down the road from the cows who proudly provide all that fresh, rich cream that goes into Bart's Homemade Ice Cream.
