Description

This 12" x 18" multicolor Shalom wall hanging was designed by Israeli artist Yair Emanuel. The wall hanging design in raw silk is appliquéd and attached with embroidery. The fringes are made from glass and metal beads. The mounting rod is made from brass pipe with brass finials. The hangings are mounted with two screws secured into the wall under the rod.

Artist Yair Emanuel, a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, lives and works in Jerusalem. His style of Judaic art is based upon a fusion of traditional motifs and ancient Jewish manuscripts with modertn and Oriental art. Vivid and harmonious colors as well as a mixture of the old and the new characterize Emanuel's work. The principal techniques he employs emcompass painting on silk, hand embroidery, raw-silk appliqué and painting on wood.

Emanuel-Judaica.com is the only web site that presents all of the artist's original products and designs. Other pieces of his work, an etrog box and a challah cover, are also available through the auction.
