Description

This beautiful, signed and numbered micro calligraphy piece of artwork called Hagadah for Passover, is composed of minute letters and contains the entire text of the Hagadah including the four questions in the boy's book, the ten plagues in the walk stick, the Kiddush prayer in the Kiddush cup, the Birkat Hamazon in the Table and the Chad Gadya song on the beautiful floral and leaf border . Any collector of Jewish art should have a piece of Leon Azoulay's unique micro calligraphy in their collection. The piece measures 19.5" x 13.6".

Leon Azoulay was born in Morocco in 1945. After emigrating to Israel, he settled in Tsfat (Safed) and studied graphics and fine art. Azoulay became interested in Bible art early in his career. Living in the ancient town of Tsfat, birthplace of Jewish mysticism (Kabbalah), inspired him in his search for a means of expressing his passion for painting and for the Bible. His art is a unique fusion of the two. Azoulay's paintings depict scenes from the Old Testament blended with Biblical passages written in minute letters (micro calligraphy).
