Lou Holtz, back in 1986, decided that his Notre Dame football players needed a bit of inspiration as they took to the field. So, borrowing a slogan from his friend, coach Gerry Faust, Holtz had a sign crafted that read, "Play Like a Champion Today." The sign, bright gold with dark blue lettering, was positioned above a stairway outside the Notre Dame locker room and soon a tradition emerged- players tapped the sign for luck on the way to the field. This poster, measuring 30" x 40", comes mounted, framed and with a nameplate detailing the slogan's history, is an exact replica of that famous sign.
