About the Artist:
Valerie Jean Respress lives in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a graduate ofDekalb Jr. College and also attended Georgia State University .
She is a Visual Artist, Poet and Spoken Word Songstress. As a Spoken
Word Artist God has blessed her with wonderful opportunities. She
has performed at Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center and has opened a Benefit Concert for her all time favorite performer Ms. Patti Labelle. She has also participated for many years in the National Black Arts Festival and has won numerous Awards including "The Best in Show " at the AAFTA's Holidays A Glow Exhibit in 2006. She has a very personal relationship with God who has made it very clear to her that she must share the fruit of their relationship. Her Poetry and Paintings reap the nectar of that fruit, she uses "Peace" as the constant Theme of her work.
