About the Artist: 

Ricky graduated cum laude from Alabama State University in 1984 after receiving several outstanding awards as a student including The Isaac Scott Hathaway Award for being the most outstanding art student and second place in the Dan River’s State wide mural competition between colleges and universities.  He went on to complete his MFA degree in Fine Arts from Florida State University in 1987. He has taught at Filmore Arts Center in Washington D.C., Grambling State University and is presently an Assistant Professor of Art at Fort Valley State University, Fort Valley Ga. Ricky has numerous gallery and museum exhibits including the National Civil Rights Center in Montgomery, Alabama, The APEX  Museum in Atlanta, Talladega College, Dillard University and many more.
