About the Artist:
The artist is a Virginia artist and educator. He is a graduate of Norfolk State College (magna cum Laude) and the University of Richmond (Masters of Humanities) and has done post graduate work at the University of Colorado and Virginia Commonwealth University. He has served on the faculty at Virginia State University and Virginia Commonwealth. “My work reflects my urban and rural experiences. As an artist, I am driven by needs both social and aesthetic. My themes are universal and are concerned with the everyday reality of all human existence. The woodcuts allow me to use bold, direct, bland and white renderings to depict the lives of my subjects.”Donated by
