Description
•4 days/3 nights for a wonderful family vacation. Mountain house situated on the shores of a gorgeous private alpine lake and surrounded by 210 acres of forest and exposed granite. A beautiful 5-bedroom house, sandy beach, and tennis court complete the picture. Only 2 miles from Highway 80 near Donner Pass. Crystal Lake is surrounded by National Forest to allow unlimited hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and exploration. Or, relax on the beach, paddle a canoe, fish from the rowboat, or play tennis on the tennis court.
•Wintertime toys with Crystal Lake include snowmobiles, snowshoes, sleds, and a sno-cat to help you get in and out. Sugarbowl is only 10 miles away for serious downhill skiing, but you can also hike any of the nearby peaks for backcountry powder. Most visitors discover the delights of snowshoeing through untouched forests, and the kids love sledding the hills.
•Lots of history surrounds this lake, which was once directly on the Emigrant Trail across Donner Pass and sported the Crystal Lake Hotel. Later, it was an important water stop for the railroad, which built the dam and inundated the hotel and old road under a few feet of water. There are even Native American petroglyphs on the rocks across the lake.
•Massive granite outcroppings with ancient Indian petroglyphs and lush conifer forests are the setting for a 5,500± sq.ft. lodge-style home on the shore of the lake featuring 5 bedrooms, all with their own baths.
•Restrictions: Dates for the three night stay need to be agreed upon in conjunction with the owners. Stay to be completed before March 2009.
