Description

Included in this lovely assortment from Through the Moongate, a gift shop in Highland Park, N.J. , which is proud to feature Fair Trade, recycled and sustainable products, are a decorative blue glass Star of David,  a set of blank cards featuring Chasidic men dancing, and Putumayo World Music's "Israel" CD,  all nestled in a blue ceramic bowl.

Below is Through the Moongate's description of the CD "Israel":

Nowhere is the diversity of Israel more evident than in its music. A beguiling fusion of European and Middle Eastern melodies with other elements from the vast Jewish Diaspora, Israel’s music reflects the multiple influences of its inhabitants. Putumayo World Music presents Israel - a collection highlighting a new generation of Israeli musicians who transcend the political strife depicted on the evening news. From Yemenite chants to Jamaican reggae, this collection represents some of the diverse sounds impacting the popular music of modern Israel.

Putumayo World Music was established in 1993 to introduce people to the music of the world's cultures. Putumayo World Music has become known primarily for its upbeat and melodic compilations of great international music characterized by the company's motto: "guaranteed to make you feel good!" Putumayo's CD covers feature the distinctive art of Nicola Heindl, whose colorful, folkloric style represents one of Putumayo's goals: to connect the traditional to the contemporary.
