As a charismatic art student, Ben discovered a way to blend his creative side with his fiery side and has never looked back. With his elegant sculptures, vases, and platters and bowls, his passion for blown glass is one flame that will never burn out.

"In my work, I am influenced both by the coast I was raised near and the historical shapes and designs of my chosen art. The coast inspires me with its strength and beauty. Every summer, I would see a changed scene in front of our family cottage: the previous winter having split ledges and completely removed large rocks from the shore. At the same time, creating smooth rocks almost soft to the touch from the tide. In designing work, I am drawn to simple shapes with minimal adornment. I would attribute my design sense to Benjamin Moore and his extensive knowledge of Italian glass design and history. I would attribute my love of fine craftsmanship to Dante Marioni." -Ben Coombs
