Description
For that special child in your life, Step Into Art Step has generously donated (1) one place in one of their Newton programs for a child in grades 1-4.
Step Into Art, Inc. is a non-profit organization founded with the mission of providing dynamic, content-rich art education programs that actively engage children with great works of art from Boston-area museums. Each Step Into Art program involves a partnership with a local school, after-school program, or community organization in coordination with a particular museum. The founder and president of Step Into Art, Inc., Abby Rischin, is a Yale Ph.D. and an award-winning teacher. Abby brings her enthusiasm and expertise to the design and teaching of Step Into Art programs, introducing children to major Boston cultural institutions including the Museum of Fine Arts, Harvard’s Fogg Art Museum, and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Her educational team includes Anne Kindseth, a student at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education. Step Into Art recently ran, pro bono, a six-week workshop at Epiphany for our current sixth graders. The program focused on German Expressionist art found at Harvard’s Busch-Reisinger Museum. The program culminates with an exhibition of Epiphany student art work at Harvard’s Fogg Art Museum on Saturday, May 19th. One piece of student art work from this program will also be auctioned off. Look for it – and bid!
