Description
Mickey Mantle sparkled in his second year with the Yankees. He batted .311 and hit 23 of his career 536 homeruns. The Yankees continued their dominance within the American League, won the pennant, and beat the Brooklyn Dodgers in seven games in the World Series to win their fourth straight championship. The Yankees were founded in 1903 when the Baltimore Orioles moved to New York City. The Yankees celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1952. In honor of their golden anniversary the club wore a colorful patch on the left sleeve of their gray road jerseys. The Yankees wore this jersey for all road games between 1931 and 1972. It features NEW YORK across the front and Mantle's classic number 7 on the back. Jersey made in USA of wool-blend, just like those worn by the 1952 Yankees.
