Maggi DeBaecke Biography
Maggi DeBaecke's jewelry combines fine art and the craft of metalwork. Using texture, shape and color to create balanced and appealing designs, Maggi creates wearable art that is neither fussy nor overpowering. Her work has been carried by more than 200 craft galleries and stores nationwide and has garnered her a Niche Award for Fabricated Jewelry, among other honors. Maggi recently turned her attention to sculpting, blacksmithing and clay work, in addition to teaching jewelry making. A 1969 MICA graduate, Maggi also has studied at the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, the Penland School of Crafts in Penland, North Carolina, the Peters Valley School of Crafts in Layton, New Jersey, the Touchstone School of Art in Farmington, Pennsylvania and the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Deer Island, Maine.
