Karen and Jim Hill Biography
KAREN HILL has been handcrafting unique pieces of wearable art since 1985. Karen makes each glass bead using an ancient technique called lampworking. The beads are solid glass of different colors and degree of transparency. Many have pure gold and silver foils encased in the glass. The metal elements are the handwork of both Karen and her husband Jim. The metals include silver, gold, gold filled and niobium (a new precious metal) and are fashioned using traditional and modern methods of metalworking.
