Karl Connolly Biography
Karl Connolly's work explores the dichotomy between illusion and reality and the nature of art itself. His paintings are not only conceptually rich but also viscerally appealing. A native of Dublin, Ireland, Karl is a 1994 graduate of MICA's Hoffberger School of Painting. He is head of the art department at the Gilman School. His paintings have been exhibited extensively in both solo and group shows including C. Grimaldis Gallery, School 33 Art Center in Baltimore, The Baltimore Museum of Art and The Walters Art Gallery. Karl received the Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist Award in 2002.
