Wendy Jachman Biography
Wendy Jachman considers her work to be in the medium of Fiber Arts and refers to her pieces as tapestries. She has maintained an affinity for creating allegorical statements specific to the institution or individual for which she is creating the art work.  Each tapestry , whether one panel or a series of panels, is conceived in advance with the creative process continuing as the tapestry evolves. Woven backgrounds serve as a canvas and embroidery and beading paint the picture and story that  the artist wants to tell.

Her tapestries are installed in Baltimore in such places as The Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Care Center of Johns Hopkins,   Bolton Street Synagogue,  Sheppard Pratt, and Gilman School. Installed at the Freeman Center for Jewish Life at Duke University is a large commission of  7 panels measuring 28 feet long. She has also created many private commissions for friends and collectors, as well as donating her work in the Baltimore community.
