Kate MacKinnon Biography
Kate MacKinnon received her B.F.A. from the Massachusetts College of Art in 1992. Several years ago, she relocated to Baltimore, where she received her M.F.A. at the Maryland Institute College of Art. Working mainly in oil on canvas, her most recent paintings are pop inspired, minimal, high gloss abstractions that explore formal issues of color and surface, while also questioning the relationship of the viewer to abstraction and the place that art exists in contemporary culture.
