Stephen Perrin Biography
Stephen Perrin creates furniture with the intent to blur the line between art and craft. He frequently combines the warmth of American hardwoods with the clear colors of aniline dyes in works that can have an animated quality, reflecting his background as a creative director. Each design is built and finished by hand. While often lauded for their compelling forms and lustrous finishes, Perrin's pieces are created to be well-used for generations.
Stephen studied at the Center for Creative Studies and received his BSD from the University of Michigan. His furniture has been featured in numerous publications and exhibitions, such as the American Craft Museum in New York and The Society of Arts and Crafts in Boston. Mr. Perrin's work can be found in several private and public collections, including the Renwick Gallery of the National Museum of American Art.
