A chance to grab an original art piece by this emerging Miami artist, who was born in Venezuela and attended New World School of the Arts on a full scholarship. Melissa's work possesses a rough spontaneity that reflects the  intensity of her rather aggressive approach towards her painting.  In each of her pieces, abstract spaces create an eerie atmosphere by using contrasting colors against textured backgrounds. Her mark-making consists of energetic, gestural strokes that have a  raw, intuitive and primitive quality. She treats her canvases in the same way she treats her sketch books--liberally. Amongst some of her influences are Goya, Chirico,  Mondrian, Rothko, Basquiat and Cy Twombly.
