SHORT BIO:
Guillermo has played with many international jazz artists including
Jon Faddis, Claudio Roditi (Dizzy Gillespie), Kim Nazarian (Grammy Award vocalist), Helio Alves (Joe Henderson, Yo-Yo Ma),Airto Moreira, Walter Vanderlei, Alfredo Cardim, among others. He is also the leader of the Brazilian jazz group EL ECO (www.elecomusic.com). The band was recently featured on NPR's Jazz Set and is now getting national attention. Guillermo performed this Summer with his band at Telluride Jazz Celebration in Colorado. On the same Festival: Herbie Hancock, Airto-Flora Purim, Terence Blanchard, among others. He has also taught at New England Conservatory, Cambridge Friends School, among others. Guillermo has studied with Gary Chaffee and Brazilian drummer Portinho. He graduated from Berklee College of Music.
