Special Instructions

Member of the Naxi ethnic minority from a tiny village outside of Lijiang, Yunnan, China -  wearing a traditional costume for her region of China. In this picture  you can see the front and back of the pads they wear. These are traditional and are pads for carrying heavy loads from the fields. However, they are also traditional ethnic clothing for this part of China and depending upon the embroidery, indicate married status.
