Vermont cartoonist Harry Bliss is best known as a cover artist for The New Yorker magazine and illustrator of several books. Harry grew up in upstate New York amidst a family of successful painters and illustrators. He studied painting at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, illustration at the University of the Arts (BFA) and Syracuse University (MA). Harry's first cover for The New Yorker appeared in 1998 and to date, he has published seventeen covers, numerous cartoons and illustrations. He has contributed cartoons for many different publications and has received awards of excellence from Print Society of News Design, Society of Illustrators, Communication Arts, National Society of News Design, Inc and Art Directions Club of New York. He has illustrated several New York Times bestselling children's books, including Diary of a Worm and Diary of a Spider.
