This heart represents all we love about our state and our agricultural heritage. Artist Shanley Triggs is a native Vermonter. She was born in Burlington, and grew up in Milton, Vermont on a dairy farm, the youngest of seven children. She was an English major in college, taught school for six years and was a secretary for ten before she discovered a talent for art. She has been painting in watercolor for 20 years and has won awards for her work. A self-taught artist, she paints meaningful subject matter from the heart that is rendered to give beauty to the world.
