We designed New Moon for people who are passionate about food, particular about coffee and sensitive to ambiance.

Our goal was to make a cup of espresso so authentic, you’d think you were in Firenze. Our espresso machine is handmade in Italy, and we follow the same methods as the Italian baristas do.

At the same time, we love local. As members of the Vermont Fresh Network, we use fresh produce from local farms and cheese makers when seasons permit. Our local suppliers include:

• Claybrook Farm: flowers & some produce
• Champlain Creamery: organic cheeses
• Red Hen Bakery: organic bread
• O Bakery: bread
• Sheffield Seitan: seitan
• Vermont Salad & Herb Company: fresh herbs
• Black River: produce
• Shadow Cross: eggs and soy milk

And we bake our own pastries and quiche on the premises every day

Décor is important to us, because we want you to linger over your latté. Our chandeliers and wall sconces are inspired by the Tree of Life, with ornaments of rock crystal and colored crystal. They’re designed by Schonbek, a company that dates back in 1870 in Bohemia and manufactures in the U.S.A.

The tables at New Moon were made of recycled barnwood by North Hero furniture maker Don Moquin. Mark Denison, an expert in eighteenth-century furniture design, handcrafted our mantle and coffee table.

The fare at New Moon lends itself to the take-out lifestyle. Everything can be packaged to go! But we also have real plates. Just ask if you’re eating in at New Moon.
