Ben Curtis was born in Columbus, Ohio and grew up in Ostrander, Ohio. Ben is a graduate Kent State University where he was a star of the golf team. As an amateur Ben won the Ohio Amateur Championship in 1999 & 2000 only 2 other professional golfers have won the Ohio Amateur Championship in consecutive years and they are John Cook & Arnold Palmer. Ben is best known for winning the Open Championship in 2003.
