At It Takes Two Farm, excellent instruction combined with proper equipment, facilities and well-schooled horses make our program stand out. They individualize each lesson according to the student's ability level, goals and challenges. We all have different learning styles and the folks at It Takes Two Farm recoginize that. All lessons and activities offered take place in a non-competitive, friendly environment which encourages students to do their best without fear of failure. The programs are designed to enhance each student's sense of self by giving them a chance to stretch their limits, while being supported by their staff. The beginner lesson and trail horses are mostly older, well seasoned horses who are quiet and kind, instilling confidence in new or fearful students. Their more advanced horses are trained to a higher level to challenge even the most experienced rider. They primarily teach English and classes progress through basic flatwork to jumping for those students who are ready. They use bareback pads as well to help the students maintain their balance on their own and not use the saddle to keep balanced. Trail riding is incorporated in the lessons. Students learn how to handle themselves around horses and how to keep themselves and their horses safe. Students learn how to catch, halter, lead, groom, saddle and bridle (depending on age and ability). One important note is that they offer a year round riding program utilitzing their indoor arena.
