Artist Statement:  "The essence for my paintings comes from a fascination with the enigmatic and intangible nature of perception and emotion and their connections to color and texture. The elements of color such as intensity, temperature and tone can be used to express feelings experienced by the artist or to incite them in the viewer. Whether the subject is landscape, figure, animal, or still life my goal is the same. I hope to convey my excitement and personal response to a given subject by working intuitively with rich hues, subtle tones and vibrant textures. The incredible versatility and enormous color range of pastels offers countless possibilities for this exploration."
