Lot 2:  Alban/Garretson/Turley

The following reviews and scores are all from Mr. Parker. All wines were obtained directly from the winery and have been properly stored.

Alban Vineyards.  Lorraine Syrah 2003.  "The limited production, well-structured, black/purple-tinged 2003 Syrah Lorraine Vineyard reveals oak along with tremendous amounts of creme de cassis-like characteristics. Dense, full-bodied, and rich with superb acidity, high, but well-integrated tannin, and a seamless finish that lasts over 60 seconds, this stunning effort is the finest Lorraine Syrah I have tasted," 99 points

Garretson Wine Company.  Mon Amie 2004.  "A blend of 96% Syrah and 4% Viognier, the 2004 Syrah Mon Amie Bassetti Vineyard, from San Luis Obispo rather than Paso Robles, is a superb effort. Its inky, deep ruby/blue/purple color is followed by a big, sweet nose of graphite, creme de cassis, smoke, and road tar. The wine boasts great intensity, full body, beautiful purity, and a long finish. It should evolve for a decade or more," 94 Points

Turley.  Dusi Vineyard Zinfandel.  "The 2002 Zinfandel Paso Robles Dante Dusi Vineyard is a 650-case cuvee tipping the scales at 16.5% alcohol. This Amarone-styled, deep ruby/purple-colored Zinfandel reveals dark earthy fruits along with hints of figs, raisins, plums, and prunes, abundant sweetness from high glycerin, excellent density, and tremendous purity for such a dry table wine," 93 points
